Up to 800 unique URLs per audit. Each is checked once, using a HEAD request first and falling back to GET where a server does not support HEAD.

Does it check external links too?

Yes. Internal and external links are both checked, and each result records whether it was internal, its final URL and the full redirect chain.

Why do redirect chains matter?

Every extra hop slows the page, wastes crawl budget and can dilute the ranking signal passed through the link. Long chains often accumulate silently after site migrations.
